Obviously this is not a true drill press but it’s a pretty amazing runner up and cannot be beat for the money. Used it already to install some panels on a panel-ready refrigerator and it worked great. Setup took 3 minutes, and it was being used the same day.
As with all the other Milescraft products I’ve gotten the DrillMate was well packaged and had all components… Assembly was 5-10 minutes tops even though the instructions are more a pictorial guide than instructions… I found the handle was more than adequate for my initial project but did try clamping and that is also an option… The spindle turns very easily with no wobble or slack.. Chuck worked as it should and didn’t slip… I had to remove the spring as I needed the chuck to go to the workpiece due to the tool I had… The spring stops the chuck level with the top of the baseplate…
I was very pleased with my first job outcome and look forward to many more..
